Audio post with 2 notes

Riding home tonight down I-270 heading back to our corner of Maryland, I slipped the iPod over to the thrilling conclusion of BLACK LOVE by The Afghan Whigs. The final 3 tracks, Bulletproof, Summer’s Kiss and Faded, have been the ultimate triptych in the encore section of their set. Since we’d just seen the band perform the very same in DC Friday and Pittsburgh Saturday, it seemed the perfect capper to a triumphant weekend.

What’s amazing is… somehow I was able to completely sync up the playlist to our drive, with us pulling up to the house as the final notes of Faded indeed faded out into the night. It was glorious, dark, exuberant and weary all at the same time.
