Have a listen, won’t you? To John Entwistle’s isolated bass track for Won’t Get Fooled Again as performed in the film The Kids Are Alright.

Via THE WHO’s Facebook page. Someone took a bit of film footage during the Leeds gig… and subsequently painstakingly synced it to the released audio. This is an amazing 4:21 of The Who in their prime. Townshend wrangling his SG, Daltrey swinging that mike, a little bit of John in there, and watching Keith Moon’s happiness as he bashes his drum kit is just a joy to see. Don’t miss it.
Wednesday is the 10th anniversary of the passing of The Who’s John Entwistle. And damn, if this particular quote from Roger Daltrey didn’t make me misty-eyed on a Tuesday morning:
"…John is right there on the stage with me. Keith too. I have said from the stage many times that the thunder they created in their lifetimes still echoes around the Universe. It always will.”
